LUGANO, Switzerland - (September 22, 2008) - New Holland Agriculture, a global manufacturer and seller of agricultural equipment, part of the Fiat Group (FIA.MI), participated recently with a group of its big New Holland landed gentry and distributors coming from Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Russia at the Big Iron Farm Show as part of an International Program organized by the North Dakota Trade Office. The program is aimed at connecting North Dakota equipment manufacturers with international buyers and promoting new approaches to agriculture methods.

More than 100 New Holland customers and distributors spent four days in North Dakota attending the farm show and the many initiatives organized. They visited the Big Iron Farm show, held in West Fargo at the beginning of September and featuring more than 800 exhibitors and more than 70,000 national and international visitors and showing the rich agricultural heritage of the state in terms of technologies, innovation and agricultural methods.

The state, which includes among its best-in-class sites the CNH plant at Fargo, leads the nation in the production of 14 major crops. Beyond the leading position of North Dakota in agricultural practices, climatic and environmental conditions in the state, with large plains and a strong temperature ranges between summer and winter, are very similar to the ones in some areas of the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States). All these elements provided the perfect scenario to showcase and share with the New Holland CIS customers and distributors the best agricultural models and practices developed in the country.

The program tailored for the CIS customers by CNH International together with the North Dakota Trade office produced positive results in terms of best practices shared as well as pride in the CNH plant in Fargo which was included in the official program of the North Dakota Trade Office, thus making available a visit to the Fargo plant for all customers and potential customers attending the show.

During the show, positive words were delivered by U.S. representatives, including the Secretary of Agriculture, to the New Holland Agriculture guests attending the event and interested in further developing their business.

CIS customers and distributors had the chance to participate in product seminars, training sessions and demonstrations within the show as well as at the Fargo plant where dedicated product sessions were organized.

At the CNH plant, guests were glad to verify the quality and proven expertise of the machines they use in their business. Major tractors exported from the Fargo plant to the CIS are the tractors above 400 horsepower, including the New Holland T9000.

The CIS customers, with an average farm size of 40,000 hectares, and distributors represent the second largest customer for the Fargo plant in terms of tractor volumes exported, right after the needs of the U.S. market.

Roberto Valfré, New Holland Agriculture Business Director for Russia, commented on the visit: "The outcome of this program has been positive; it has been a profitable exchange of experience which involved our management and the North Dakota Trade office, allowing customers and distributors to verify first hand what we produce and which are the best practices developed here in terms of business management, technologies and tillage methods."
